OFSTED Inspection 5th and 6th Dec 2012
Inspection of Walkley Primary School by OFSTED.
If you are a registered parent/carer of a pupil at the school (including pupils on sick leave or who are temporarily excluded) you can tell OFSTED your views about the school by completing OFSTED's online survey, Parent View at http://www.parentview.ofsted.gov.uk.
Parent view asks for your opinion on 12 aspects of our school, including the progress made by your child, the quality of the teaching, dealing with bullying and poor behaviour. The Inspector's will use the online survey responses when inspecting our child's school.
To register your views, you will need to provide your email address, which will be held securely. It will not be used for any purpose other than providing access to the online survey. Neither schools nor OFSTED will have any access to e-mail addresses.
Please complete the online survey by 11 a.m on 5 December 2012 as this will give the inspection team more time to consider your views. However, OFSTED will consider all online responses that are completed during the inspection. Should you wish to provide written comments these should be sent to the school in a sealed envelope, marked confidential and addressed to the Inspection Team.
Speaking to an Inspector
If you are unable to be possible to speak to an inspector during the inspection, for instance at the start of the school day, or complete the online survey, it may be possible to speak to an inspector during the inspection, for instance at the start of the school day, or to pass on mesages to the inspectors if you are unable to speak to them in person. Inspection administrators will be happy to make the necessary arrangements. If concerns are raised about child protection, OFSTED may have to pass the information they receive to social services or the police. You can contact the administrators on 01695 566932. Inspectors will be pleased to receive your comments, but cannot deal with complaints about individual pupils or settle disputes between you and the school.

A few updates for you....
A few updates for you....
Burnaby Building Repairs
Due to the theft of lead from Burnaby roof last week,
urgent repairs need to take place this week. All children have had an assembly
about building safety and keeping safe around scaffolding. The tiles will be
replaced but will not be made of lead. Could you please reinforce these safety
issues at home? Thank you.
Children in Need Day
Thank you to all of you for your contributions. We
have raised £88 to donate to Pudsey Bear on Blue Day.
Prayer Day
It is National Prayer Day on Wednesday and so we are
holding a special event in Tennyson Building Hall. The hall will be out of use
all day as the children explore opportunities to reflect, learn about how
others pray and think about the many positives in their lives for which they
need to be grateful.
Parent mail
We have had many problems with Parentmail and so we
are trialling a new text service for parents. We hope that you find this a
useful service and that it proves to be a helpful reminder communication service
between us.
