Walkley Playground Project

Parents! If you have a free half hour or so on Friday morning, or you're already joining us for the Golden Book assembly, please stay for a short presentation and discussion about our Walkley School Playground Project.

Our outside provision for play is in real need of improvement and there are exciting plans underway to begin to transform the playground areas around the school.

But ( there's always a but...), we need your ideas, inspiration, support and fundraising efforts.

Mrs Hansbury and Mrs Jinkinson will be very happy for you to come along THIS FRIDAY 8TH NOVEMBER at 9.30am

All will be explained!

Thank you

A massive thank you to all our parents and staff who helped to prepare for our Eid Celebration and party yesterday evening. An impressive turnout by children and parents meant that everyone enjoyed a fantastic event including face painting and henna painting, pass the parcel, colouring and eating. The food was magnificent and thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended. Many went back for seconds as we sampled a range of superb and mouth watering dishes. And for those of you who missed the party ....we hope to see you this time next year!

Tuesday 22 October 2013

Hi All,

Before we wish everyone a fantastic half term here are some quick reminders.

Parents Evening tonight and tomorrow evening!

Harvest Festival is on Thursday 24th October. This year we are working with Ben from 'Taste' to raise awareness of poverty in Nigeria. The children have written letters and produced information booklets which Ben has taken with him on his  visit. On Thursday there will be a harvest assembly with  Ben in attendance where he will share responses from a Nigerian school, therefore no donations are required this year.

On Thursday, there is an Eid Party for all pupils to be held in Tennyson Building  from 3.15 until 4.45 p.m. Please collect your children promptly after the event.

The opening of the Discovery Zone by the Lord Mayor was a wonderful afternoon for everybody, as children and staff alike dressed up as book characters for the occasion. You can see some photographs and read all about us in the Sheffield Star next Tuesday 29th October 2013.
Parents/ carers and friends will have the opportunity to have a look round our new resource after Golden Book this Friday morning. If you are unable to make it, we will provide other opportunities for a visit after half term.

Thank you once again for your continued support. See you on the 4th November......

Sponsored event

Your financial support for our sponsored event to raise money for our library has astounded us. You have raised an astonishing £1,201.43 which will enable us to purchase a ‘house’ with storage, interior seating and twinkly lights. Work commences on the 25th July with the library furniture to be fitted on the 7th October. A grand opening will follow shortly afterwards. There is a photograph of the 'house' included on the letter that was sent home on the 19th July.  We are unable to upload the picture onto the Blog.

Thank you
What a year it has been. We are so proud of our achievements and although we are looking forward to our break, we can’t wait to build on our success next year. Thank you for your support from an officially ‘Good’ school!!!
See you on the 3rd September!!!
